Understanding As A Virtue

 (by  Blessing Okoebor)
That life is a journey is a truth we are aware of. That this journey is not a single person's venture is another truth we are aware of. The truth we are unaware of is that for the journey to be successful, understanding is a necessary virtue every participant in this journey must have.

The ability to communicate effectively, that is, speaking and listening brings about understanding. Do not be so in love with the sound of your voice that you are deaf to the insights of others.

The advice and insights gained from others in life's journey have been proven to be invaluable, if you have separated the wheat from the chaff. To get the best out of every advice given is to listen with a sensitive heart and enlighten mind.

Only God gives this ability - a sensitive heart and an enlighten mind. Ask him for these and get the road map for a successful life.

Location Won't Change Who You Are

Moving from a third world country to a developed country does not change who you are or what you are worth. It doesn't change the principles of success, money or life. It does not change your finance. It does not make you better or worst.

Archbishop Benson Idahosa once said "a lizard in Nigeria will not become a crocodile in America". He said this to address the mindset of so many in third world countries. Mindset like: if only I could go to any western nation (US, UK, CANADA etc.), if I could go to any of those countries that look so beautiful in the movies and magazines, then my life would change.

Truth be told, it never happens that way.  In fact, it is a big lie.
The principle that governs finance in the country where you are, governs finance in the country where you are going to. If you require hard work to be successful in your home country probably a third world country, you'll also require hard work or even more to be successful in that  developed country far away from home.

A change in location does not change the fact that you have to develop yourself, work to earn a living, be qualified enough to gain employment in a particular field, be a citizen to enjoy certain benefits… The list goes on and on.

It is better to see things the way they truly are and be happy with yourself than to live in a lie and end up with regrets. A word they say is enough for the wise.

WHAT HAS TO BE SAID, HAS TO BE SAID (CONFRONTATION)

Confrontation (Photo credit: careerrocketeer.com)
You can only correct what you confront.
Confrontation is not enjoyable but
what has to be said, has to be said;
what has to be faced, has to be faced.

Until you confront every habit;
Every Emotion,
Every Denial,
Every bitterness,
Every Worry,
Every Pain,
Every Sin,
Every Guilt,
Every Obstacle,
Every shame,
Things are not going to get better.
To be better, you must confront what needs to be confronted.

Many choose to live a perpetual state of denial rather than do what is needed to confront issues, situations, circumstances, weaknesses and inconsistencies in themselves and others

Truth be told.
No one enjoys confrontation.
But I've learned that
"What has to be said, has to be said and what has to be faced, has to be faced".
